Atchison Globe August 20, 1922 Catherine Buchheit/Weinmann June 25, 1836-Aug. 19, 1922 Mrs. Catherine Weinmann, 86 years old and an Atchison County pioneer passed away at her farm near St. Patricks at 5:50 last evening. Her fatal illness lasted but two weeks. She has been in failing health and in the last few years was almost helpless. She was the mother of eleven children, forty grandchildren and seventy-nine great-grandchildren. She was born in Germany on June 25, 1836. She came to America with her parents in 1845 at nine years of age. The family located in Ohio. Mrs. Weinmann was married in 1857 in that state and came to Kansas with her husband shortly after their marriage. They located in Leavenworth and lived there until 1864, when they moved to the St. Patrick's neighborhood. Mrs. Weinmann lived a good Christian life and was respected and admired by all who knew her and will mourn her death. Of the 11 children, 7 survive; Mrs. Pete (Mary) Weber, Falls City, Nebraska, Mrs. Gerald (Kate) Seeger, Atchison, Mrs. Matt (Anna) Bein, Boulder, Colorado, Peter Weinmann,Olpe, Jacob Weinmann, Atchison, and William and John Weinmann on the home place. Funeral services and burial will be at St. Patricks.
